Racing Throttle Bodies & Components

Essentially, a throttle body carries out the function of a valve controlling the amount of air entering the engine. The more air is supplied to the combustion chamber, the more fuel can be added to the mixture and thus the more power and torque can be produced. A throttle body is located between the air intake system and intake manifold. The assembly may feature one or two butterfly or disk-type valves designed to open when you press the gas pedal. This valve may be actuated by a steel cable or feature an electronic throttle control system which receives the driver’s inputs via wires.

In a situation when you have decided to install a high-flow, less restrictive air intake and upgrade the engine with big bore heads, larger pistons, and so on, a stock throttle body can become a bottleneck limiting the ability of your motor to produce much-needed power. That is why racing enthusiasts tend to opt for aftermarket parts. Racing throttle bodies and related components available on the digital shelves of our online store can greatly improve the airflow to your intake manifold thus boosting the engine output and also allowing you to achieve better throttle response.

Note that bigger is not always better. A larger valve may be less responsive, but it is recommended if you install some type of a forced induction system. The majority of racing throttle bodies can directly replace their factory-installed counterparts. You can even reuse stock throttle position and air pressure sensors and idle airflow adjustment mechanism. We offer high-performance throttle bodies made from billet aluminum using precise CNC machining and featuring high-quality brass valves, sealed bearings, and stiffer return springs resulting in smooth, trouble-free operation and better responsiveness. Here you can find a range of special manifold adapters that you can use to convert from carburetion to throttle body injection without replacing your intake manifold.
