The Pontiac Wave was marketed in Canada for the 2005-2008 model years. Originally, the car was developed by the Daewoo division of GM and was offered in North America under the Chevrolet Aveo name from February 2003. Although the car was globally marketed under various GM brands and names, its chassis codes were common everywhere, derived from the T-body platform the model was utilizing. The first generation got the T200 designation, while the second one was named the T250. The first-generation Wave was available for only two years and was replaced with the succeeding generation for the 2007 model year. In 2008, the model was renamed the G3, the designation used by Pontiac USA.
