In 1971, the second-generation Road Runner was launched; it featured a totally redesigned body shape with a long nose and deeply carved front grille. The automaker expanded the list of available engines and added the options with a smaller displacement (318 and 340 cubic inches). In 1974, the model was dropped, but during one more year, there was a special option named the Plymouth Fury Roadrunner.
