Unveiled in 1969, the Plymouth Duster was a 2-door semi-fastback, originally offered as a sporty version of the Valiant model. Over the year of production, the badge Valiant was dropped, and the Duster became a standalone model, although it shared the overall architecture and some styling details with its predecessor. The roofline was an all-new stylistic solution, which was especially appealing to younger drivers. Available with four different engines, the car was offered in several versions, and each of them prioritized a certain aspect: cargo area, economy, or performance. The automobile was discontinued in 1976, but the badge Duster remained as a special version of other models, the Plymouth Turismo and Sundance manufactured in the 1980s and 90s respectively.
