Pioneer Automotive® 872021 - Driver Side High Performance Harmonic Balancer

Reading the description the part sounded like a quality part that would exceed my expectations, but the finished part was of poor quality. I noticed right away while inspecting the v-belt groove that it had paint drips that filled the sides of the groove the belt sits in, and the part looked as if it wasn't finished after casting, just poorly spray painted. The three bars that extend from the center hub still had the casting over-spill from factory that are normally brushed off for clean appearance on other brands, but here they were not touched just sprayed over. The other brands had product images that you could click and see close-ups, while this one did not. I have worked in fabrication metal shops and this part looks like the person responsible for finishing the product was not trained, or didn't care. There should be a quality control check of finished part at factory. I called to return the part and the CARiD customer service rep did a great job of taking care of the problem for me. I replaced this Pioneer brand with a Dorman harmonic balancer that was finished properly and looked to be a professional part.
