Product Details

Threadlocker by Permatex®. Permatex carries a complete line of threadlockers for use in a broad range of applications, on most metals and alloys, and at a wide range of temperatures. They cure in the absence of air to form a tough, adhesive bond and seal that protects from dirt and moisture, while securing the fastener assembly against loosening from shock and vibration. The product is superior to conventional lock washers, nylon inserts, and other mechanical devices.

Your vehicle's components are subjected to destructive forces such as moisture, dirt, heat, and vibration that cause failure of fasteners and leaky seals, ultimately requiring expensive repairs. But a simple application of a liquid threadlocker will bond the fasteners in place and help prevent loosening, corrosion, and leakage. On a typical metal fastener, there is only 15% of metal-to-metal contact with 85% air space left. Permatex threadlockers remove the air space between the threaded assembly, forming a bond that prevents dirt and moisture from entering the air gap. By sealing the air gap within the threaded assembly, threadlockers eliminate movement of the fasteners, and lessen the chance of loosening due to vibration.

Approved by automotive OEMs and used on factory assembly lines, each threadlocker by Permatex is an anaerobic material that cures in the absence of air and presence of metal. Permatex Threadlockers are simply the most reliable way to lock and seal threaded fasteners of all shapes and sizes, either before or after assembly. They feature various strengths and temperature ratings and are developed for use on a broad range of applications, from delicate fuel injection components to heavy duty transmission and engine assemblies. The different colors stand for the different strengths of the products: purple indicates low strength, blue means medium strength, red stands for high strength.
