Thread Sealant with PTFE (80633) by Permatex®, 16 oz. Can. Superior to Teflon tape, this OEM specified, medium strength anaerobic sealant is designed to lock and seal threaded fittings and perform at high temperatures up to 400ºF. Its excellent lubricating properties prevent galling on pipe threads and fittings and allow for easy assembly and disassembly. Contains PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as teflon), a material with good antifriction properties and high resistance to chemicals and aggressive environments. Do not use on plastic piping.

Thread sealants are designed to seal and secure metal pipes and fittings. They fill the space between threaded metal parts and cure to a pliable seal that eliminates leakage caused by vibration loosening, solvent evaporation, damaged threads, tape shredding, and temperature cycling. Permatex carries a line of premium thread sealants available for low and high pressure applications that seal instantly for on-line low pressure testing. After the sealant is fully cured, it seals to the burst strength of most piping systems. Permatex thread sealants feature excellent lubricating properties that ensure easy assembly and help prevent galling of the threads. For system repairs, parts may be disassembled using basic hand tools.
