Nowadays, when most large cities are stuffed with thousands of vehicles, economy subcompact cars like the Nissan March, Honda Fit, or Ford Fiesta grow in popularity all over the world. Japanese automakers have always had strong positions in this market segment, with no exception for the Nissan March, also known as the Micra in European countries and Canada. Designed back in the early 1980s, the vehicle was initially available as a three- or five-door hatchback. Maneuverable and easy to park, this small car has always been in great demand in Japan, Taiwan, India, and Europe. The first-gen car was equipped with a four-cylinder 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter engine developing from 50 to 60 hp, depending on the version. However, an extremely light curb weight (1,400 lb) enabled this vehicle to be rather agile and fuel-efficient.

Actually, all of the aforementioned qualities have always been peculiar to the March regardless of its generation. Nissan has managed to create a distinctive, charming design and endowed the vehicle with various creature comforts. In 2011, the March went on sale in Mexico. Assembled in Aguascalientes, the car is available in four trim levels: Sense, Advance, Exclusive, and SR and features the same chassis as the fourth-gen Micra. However, unlike the Micra which came with a supercharged 1.2L I3 in Europe, all of the Mexican Marches received a more powerful 1.6-liter inline-four (HR16DE). The motor develops 106 hp and is mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. In fact, it's a perfect powerplant for such a car, offering an almost ideal balance between power, fuel economy, reliability, and long service life at minimal expense. In 2014, the March was facelifted and got a sportier look and some new features.

In general, the vehicle is generously equipped for a rather affordable price. On the options list, you will find a 5.8-inch color touchscreen, rear-view camera, navigation system with voice recognition, Bluetooth, NissanConnect system, remote opening of the trunk, etc. Also, the car received various safety features including EBD, ABS, and Brake Assist (BA) systems.
