Presented in autumn 2005 as a replacement for the Mighty Max series, the Mitsubishi Raider is a mid-size pickup truck combining the most authentic American features of utilitarian vehicles: a spacious cabin, an impressive cargo capacity, and a bold off-road attitude. Built in the U.S. by Mitsubishi’s ally Chrysler, the Raider was based on the Dodge Dakota series, introducing, however, a more aggressive and appealing look. Different powertrains were offered and the model was available in two body styles, with an extended cab and a more roomy crew cab with a slightly smaller bed. Sales were, however, below expectations and the production ended in 2009.
