The Mitsubishi Raider appeared in the USA in 2005 as a 2006 model. It shares many features with the Dodge Dakota. The name was borrowed from the Dodge Raider SUV which was a rebadged Mitsubishi Montero. This model has filled the gap in the lineup after the production of the Mighty Max was stopped in 1996. As soon as the model appeared on the automotive market, it was available with both two- and four-wheel drive. The Raider was produced in the USA by Chrysler. Recently the pickup truck was badged as the Street Raider, and Mitsubishi's California design studio redesigned it. For the first time a renewed vehicle was introduced at the SEMA automotive show in 2005. Since that time it was shown at different auto shows all over the USA.
