The Mitsubishi Diamante was provided from 1990 till 2005. The first generation of the Diamante was manufactured in three options: a four-side window hardtop, a six-side window sedan (the Sigma) and the last – a wagon. The second generation of the vehicle appeared on the Japanese market in 1995. The size of the car became a little bigger and the headroom was improved. The Sigma production was discontinued for the second generation because of a rather small volume of sales on the Japanese market. In general the vehicle was powered by three engines: 2.5L V6, 3.0L V6 and 3.5L V6, mated to two transmission options: 4-speed automatic and 5-speed automatic.
