CROSSCLIMATE 2 Tires (28997) by MICHELIN TIRES®. 235/50R18, Speed Index V - 149 mph, Max Load 1609 lbs, Tire Weight 27.31 lbs. Season: All Season. Type: Performance, Truck / SUV, EV. If you are seeking all-season rubber that instills driving confidence in every weather condition, Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires are certainly worth a look. These units are professionally developed to be capable of conquering rain and snow conditions without sacrificing dry performance, and they hit the mark and live up to their name. Besides, the CrossClimate 2 features the brand’s PIANO Noise Reduction Tuning technology. It employs a special tread pattern that reduces road noise for a more comfortable ride.

While many people view all-seasons as a compromise between winter and summer rubber, it is not the case when it comes to Cross Climate 2 tires. These are developed and tested to perform in all climate conditions providing reliable grip and traction on both wet and dry surfaces. What’s more, their special tread pattern and compound gained them the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake Symbol that indicates they are safe to use in light and moderate snow and at low temperatures.

Along with excellent wet stopping, dry grip, and snow performance, these units also offer long treadlife. The manufacturer claims that they outlast leading competitive tires by up to 15,000 miles (about a year of driving) on a treadwear test. All the mentioned-above made them highly competitive in the crowded all-season tire category.

Good Grip
I’m not new to all-season MS tires. Over the years of my driving experience, I have tried different budget-friendly and expensive models from different brands. These Michelins are my favorite to date. I’m really impressed with their performance in both snow and rain. Dry performance is also good. Just what you need for Minnesota’s climate unless you want to change your tires twice a year. If they last at least 50K miles, I’ll be buying them again.

Confident Ride
These aren’t the quietest tires for sure. I hear some noise but it’s not annoying. Actually, it was expected from tires with a pretty aggressive tread. Whatever, they are fantastic rain and snow performers. If they last long, I’ll buy another set when the time comes.

225/50R17 98V on the Fusion
I was in the market for tires that perform equally well on dry, wet, and snowy roads as my stock units didn’t meet my needs. These provide excellent traction in slippery conditions. No hydroplaning, slipping, or loss of control. Very reliable tires. I hope they will also last long.

Smooth Ride
I can recommend these to everyone who lives in upstate New York where we get harsh winters. They are excellent all-season tires with the snow factor included. Snow, slush, and everything in between, they do it all with great confidence. They also work well in rain. I’ve put more than 10K miles on them in different weather conditions with no issues at all.

Impressive Wet Performance
I live in Maine and need all-season tires that can withstand its climate with rainstorms, snowfalls, and everything in between. I have had these on my Audi for about a month and what I can say for now is that they provide great grip even in heavy rain, so my car never hydroplaned or wavered in any way. On the dry road, they also work great, but are a little bit noisy as for me. can't wait for snow to see how they will perform.

Best All-Seasons
I bought these for my wife’s Infiniti to replace worn-out stock rubber a month ago. She was very pleased with their performance, especially in wet weather. During this month, I drove her car several times and had the chance to discover how they perform on dry and wet roads. Want to know my opinion? I’ve bought a second set of these tires for my BMW.

Excellent Performance
Put them on my Volt a week ago and love them already. These look great to start with, but a little bit noisier than my stock units. Actually, that noise isn’t overwhelming and is compensated by much better performance in rain. A few days ago, we had heavy rain here and I had to drive home through it. These stuck like glue to the road despite lots of water on it. Acceleration, handling, and braking were excellent. I have not yet tried them in snow so I can't comment on that.

Quiet & Grippy
This is my first ever set of all-season M+S tires with 3PMSF rating. Looking at their pretty aggressive tread, I thought they would be pretty noisy. But it promised good grip in snow and rain, and that was a deal-maker for me. Gotta admit, I was wrong. These tires are quiet and comfortable. As for performance, they handle nicely on icy, snowy, dry, wet, and puddled roads.

Superb 5 Stars!
Got this for the front of my RAV 4 this winter 2022. The handling is superb: cornering and braking. Quiet at speeds of 65 to 85 on a highway. So different and handles very well than the Goodyear Assurance and the Cooper Evo that it replaced. Highly recommended and the threads is what makes this tire unique as it flushes water away as you travel.

Awesome Tires
We just had some pretty good snow in the last few weeks and I knew I was do for some new tires. So one day I went to pick my friend up for work and sadly we both end up not going in because I couldn't get back up the hill. So that evening I got on CARiD I bought me a set of these Michelin premier a/s tires. Fast shipping, order them Wednesday had them Friday. So you know what I did next, even though I didn't need to pick my friend up, I went back to that hill to show it who was boss. With no resistants at all!! I was able to go up and down that hill with little tire spin and what a change in ride quality too, it rides soo much smoother. It didn't take long for me to say I love these tires.

Question:
Is the Michelin CrossClimate 2 tire directional?

CARiD Answer:
Yes, it is. It's designed to rotate in only one direction to maximize traction on wet and dry roads. So make sure it is installed on your vehicle facing the correct direction to perform at its best. If this is not the case, they will not only work worse but also wear out faster than expected.

Question:
Is the Michelin CrossClimate 2 good for winter?
MICHELIN TIRES® - CROSSCLIMATE 2
Posted by Customer / December 14, 20222016 Infiniti QX50
CARiD Answer:
The CrossClimate 2 has the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol on its sidewall, meaning it's a snow-rated tire. It provides great snow braking and traction. However, keep in mind that it doesn't match the performance of true winter rubber in adverse weather conditions. So if you live in a place where heavy snowfalls are common and frequently drive on snow covered and icy roads, winter-dedicated tires will be a better choice.
