The MG MG5 name has been used on a series of compacts since 2012. First things first, MG is a British marque known by many motorists for its two-seat roadsters. After the original MG Rover Group was phased out in 2005, its assets were acquired by two companies from China, soon to be merged and named SAIC Motor (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation). Under new ownership, MG's focus shifted from sports cars to mass-produced mainstream vehicles, with the MG5 being one of the offerings. It first hit the Chinese market as a compact hatchback. Some markets including the domestic one got its second generation launched in 2020 as a compact sedan set to take on the likes of the Toyota Corolla, while others, such as the United Kingdom, received it as an all-electric station wagon. Looking for MG MG5 accessories or parts? Whether it's a repair job or upgrades, we have the right products at prices that will suit your wallet.
The MG5 Electric is marketed as the world's first station wagon powered by electricity alone. But in fact, it is a rebadged version of the vehicle introduced back in 2017 and named the Roewe Ei5. The Output on the MG5 is rated at 154 horses from a single electric motor on the front axle. Regular and long-range models are available. A 52.2-kWh battery provides about 214 miles of driving on the European WLTP cycle, while the wagons equipped with a 61.1-kWh pack can go up to 250 miles. Charging to 80 percent takes nearly 40 minutes on a fast charger. The MG5 is set to bring shoppers in the UK a no-frills family car model. It is affordably priced, so those families that haven't considered fully electric transportation before due to the higher price tags of EVs now have a viable option to take into account. As a station wagon, the MG5 EV is plenty practical. Its trunk can hold 16.4 cu. ft. of cargo, and if more cargo needs to be hauled, the rear seats fold down to reveal 51.4 cubes.
Although being an inexpensive EV, the MG5 is not devoid of modern tech. With such features as a TFT instrument display, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto integration, 4 USB ports, rear parking assistance, cruise control, and others, it is pretty well equipped. Expectedly, the interior of this vehicle emphasizes function over form. In our selection of MG MG5 parts and accessories, you'll find products that will add more style to the cabin and further enhance its functionality, including floor mats, seat covers, steering wheel covers, etc.
