The Mercury Comet is a car which was manufactured by the company between 1960 and 1977. In different periods, it was offered as a compact or mid-size car. At the beginning, this model was constructed on the compact Ford Falcon platform; some time later, it was built on the mid-size Ford Fairlane platform, and at the end, it shared the platform with the compact Ford Maverick. Early models could boast better interior trim than the Falcon, and were distinguished by a little longer wheelbase. At first, the Comet was planned for production as a model by Edsel, but when the Edsel division stopped producing cars, the model was rebadged by Mercury and sold as the Comet.
Problems connected with the suspension system can result in serious consequences. However, they rarely reveal themselves suddenly; typically, a driver can learn about them beforehand by affected comfort, clanks and vibrations, abnormal swaying, and so on. If you have any problems with the suspension system, have them fixed as soon as possible. Our online store offers a comprehensive selection of top-grade Mercury Comet suspension parts such as shocks and struts, sway bars, ball joints, control arms, suspension bushings, leaf springs, and many others.
