The Mercedes Sprinter is one of the world-known commercial vehicles. It’s available in a wide range of various configurations and sold in different countries. The vehicle has been manufactured under different brand names (Volkswagen, Dodge, Freightliner, and Mercedes-Benz). The Sprinter was originally built for business; still, RV (recreation vehicle) conversions are available. For North American buyers, the first generation of this vehicle was introduced as the Freightliner Sprinter T1N (Transporter 1 Neu) available with a 2.7 L straight five-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine married to a five-speed automatic transmission in 2001. For the 2003 model year, the automaker released the Dodge Sprinter that was identical to the Freightliner version except for the badging and a few minor styling details.

The second generation Sprinter was offered as an NCV3 (New Concept Van 3). In the USA, it became available for the 2007 model year under both Freightliner and Dodge nameplates. The American models were powered by either a 3.0 L Turbo Diesel (CDI) engine or a 3.5 L gasoline engine teamed with either a 6-speed manual NSG370 or a 5-speed automatic NAG1 transmission. The 3.5 L gas engine was discontinued in 2009. Since 2010, the Sprinter has been available under the Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner brand name. The same year, U.S. Sprinter drivers got an opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of the Bluetec emissions system. In 2013, the Sprinter was upgraded to give drivers the vehicle that works even harder, while providing them with more assistance and comfort at the wheel. It received a number of new assistance systems like adaptive highbeam, crosswind stabilization, lane departure warning system, just to name a few.

The exterior of the vehicle got minor changes like a redesigned radiator grille and more angular headlights, which make the Sprinter look more stylish. The Sprinter interior boosts new upholstery and seat covering, the up-to-date radio system, and a thicker steering wheel. All Mercedes Sprinter accessories and parts are professionally united to create one of the most advanced commercial vehicles on the road today. Available in five configurations (Crew, Cargo, MiniBus, Passenger, and Can Chassis), the Sprinter is equipped with either a 2.1-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel or a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine. Built to deliver years of reliable service helping to keep your business always ready for the road ahead, the Mercedes Sprinter still requires repairs and maintenance from time to time. I replaced my old tail light with this LED one. Works great and very bright. Only downside is it is a bit pricey for one piece.
