Powertrains & Driving Range

The fully electric crossover is available in three trim levels in its first year on the market: the EQE 350+, EQE 350 4Matic, and EQE 500 4Matic. As their name implies, 4Matic models utilize two electric motors that power both axles. The base SUV employs rear-wheel drive; it generates 288 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque and has the longest 279-mile range. The mid-level EQE 350 4Matic makes the same amount of hp and a little more torque, rated at 564 lb-ft, while being capable of traveling 253 miles. The most powerful EQE 500 4Matic puts out 402 hp and 633 lb-ft and offers 269 miles of range.

For those who want a more engaging driving experience and a sportier look to match, there is the AMG-spec EQE53. Its standard dual-motor setup produces 617 horses and 701 lb-ft and can further be upgraded with the AMG Dynamic Plus pack that gives it a solid increase to 677 hp. All EQE53s ride on air suspension. Like the regular lineup, the Mercedes-AMG model uses a 90.6-kWh battery that has a peak charge rating of 170 kW. Plugging it in at home fully replenishes the battery in about 9.5 hours.

Interior Design & Tech

As expected from a Mercedes, the EQE SUV has a handsomely appointed cabin filled with the latest technology. All models come with a panoramic sunroof and Burmester's excellent audio system, and the options list is quite extensive to luxe up the interior to every shopper's liking. A 12.8-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display are standard, and as an option, the automaker offers a striking Hyperscreen, which is basically a trio of screens spanning the entire length of the dashboard.
