The Mercedes C Class is a compact luxury car first built and shown by Daimler AG in November, 1982 (W201). Its production started in 1984 with a RWD four-door sedan operated by a 2.0 L I4 engine directed through a four-speed automatic gearbox. And, of course, this car was fitted with an air conditioning system. Officially, though, the C Class is considered to have been produced since 1993 (W202) also as a rear-wheel drive car with a front-mounted engine. The 4WD layout has been available since 2002 (W203). The current C Class (W205) is offered in a five-door station wagon and a four-door sedan body style. The new C Class entered the U.S. market in September, 2014, in a sedan body style only.
