The Maserati Ghibli was introduced to the public back in 1967 and was known as the AM 115. It was a two-door grand tourer powered by a 4.7 L V8 engine, which was mated to a five-speed ZF manual transmission, while a three-speed automatic transmission was optional. The exterior of the car looked stylish and original thanks to a low, shark-shaped front, pop-up headlights, and alloy wheels. In 1969, Maserati introduced two new models of the Ghibli: the Spyder and SS. The first one was offered with either a convertible top or retractable hardtop. The second model was designed for those who were looking for extra power. Powered by a 4.9 L engine, it offered a top speed of about 170 mph, which made it the fastest road car of the automaker for that time. In 1973, the AM 115 was discontinued.

The Ghibli returned to the market in 1992. It was also known as the Tipo AM 336. This two-door four-seater coupe was equipped with either a 2.0 L V6 teamed with a six-speed manual transmission (for the Italian drivers) or a 2.8 L V6 paired with a five-speed manual transmission (for export). In 1995, a five-speed manual transmission was replaced with a six-speed one. Built for not only excellent performance, but also luxury, the car featured the interior with burl elm trim and Conolly leather upholstery. The automaker released two sport versions: the Ghibli Kit Sportivo and Ghibli Cup in 1995. Next year, the car was upgraded and got the name of the Ghibli GT. The changes included transmission and suspension modifications, black headlight housings, and seven-spoked 17-inch alloy wheels. The Ghibli Open Cup was a single-make racing series that was in production during two years – 1995 and 1996. In 1998, the car went out of production.

The third generation Maserati Ghibli (also known as the Tipo M157) was released at the Shanghai motor show in 2013. Designed and built with professional attention to the tiniest detail, the Ghibli is currently known as a luxury sport sedan which instantly responds to the driver’s every command. The car is available with three 3.0 L V 6 engines: a twin-turbocharged 330 PS or 410 PS gasoline and a 275 PS turbodiesel, coupled with an eight-speed ZF transmission. Its amazing to be able to have a car that stands out from the rest of the cars on the road. Then to stand out from that crowd as well is superb and this is what the spoiler does for my car, it sets me apart from everyone else to do something different and be unique and not in a bad way.
