The Lincoln Town Car is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and distributed by Lincoln from 1981-to 2011. The Town Car nameplate was first offered for the four-door sedan in 1959, next to the Lincoln Continental Mark IV, and also to the Mark V ranges, each of which are high-class, luxury four-door sedans. Also, the name was used in the Continental range in 1969, and a year later, as a special edition of the model while being outfitted with the top-trim interior package. In 1981, the Town Car became a separate model in the Lincoln vehicle range thus superseding the Continental as the flagship vehicle for Lincoln just as well as for Ford.
