The Lincoln Mark VIII is a full-size grand touring luxury rear-wheel drive coupe that was produced by Lincoln beginning in 1993 to 1998. The automobile was created so as to succeed the Lincoln Continental Mark VII. The Mark VIII was produced at Lincoln's Wixom Assembly Plant and was constructed on the Ford-sourced FN platform, which was used to underpin the 1989–1997 Ford T-Bird and the Mercury Cougar. Considering that the demand for two-door luxury coupes was declining during the late 1990s, the Mark VIII was not sold any longer after 1998, its main role in the Lincoln range was taken by the LS.
