License Plate Light Bulbs

License plate lights aren’t the most glamorous parts of your vehicle’s illumination gear, but they are a necessity. Laws vary according to state, but even if lighting requirements aren’t specified, your rear license plate must be clearly visible to law enforcement officers. Non-functioning license plate lights may be interpreted as an attempt to obscure the plate, and if pulled over you could be subject to a traffic ticket and fine.

Even though they don’t light the way and help you see in darkness or alert other drivers to your intentions, license plate lights are still essential components. Just as you wouldn’t trust the function of your headlights or tail lights to substandard bulbs, neither should rely on just any old bulbs to shine on your license plate. We can offer you both original equipment quality replacement bulbs and several ways to upgrade your license plate illumination.

Our replacement OE bulbs will fit the same and provide the same degree of illumination and durability as bulbs from a dealer, but at a much better price. And upgrading is easy, because we have replacement LED bulbs that are manufactured to fit in the same location as the OE bulb and require no modifications to your vehicle. LED bulbs are much brighter than incandescent bulbs and last much longer, 50,000 hours or more, making these the last license plate bulbs you’ll ever have to buy for your car. Plus they’re available in a range of colors for a custom look. (Check local laws to see if colors other than white are legal).

But if you want more than a bulb upgrade, for select vehicles we also have license plate illumination kits. These kits feature housings with LED lights on both sides. The light on the license plate side shines on the plate, while a red light on the other side of the housing provides a red running light. The bright red running lights will give your vehicle a custom look and at the same time increase visibility and driving safety. Optional bulbs are available for the license plate light to illuminate the plate in colors other than white.

For the ultimate in custom license plate lighting you can’t beat our neon license plate frames. These frames surround your plate with a unique glow, which can be displayed in either of two ways: with the neon facing outward for the full effect, or facing the license plate for an aura-type glow that emanates from the perimeter of the frame.
