Tires are critical points of contact between your vehicle and the road surface so they have a huge impact on everything from handling to safety. Even the finest rubber is prone to gradual deterioration which in its turn can lead to rather dangerous situations on the road. For this reason it is strongly recommended to have it replaced when the tread depth is no longer sufficient. When it’s about time for replacement, you can trust Kumho, a South Korean company with over 50 years of experience. They make affordable, durable, smooth-riding, and good-looking tires which are installed on a variety of vehicle models from the factory.
20 inch Kumho tires that we carry are available in a multitude of types tailored for different applications and seasons. Summer rubber has content which allows it to provide sufficient traction on wet and dry roads at temperatures above 45 degrees, while all-season tires have silica compounds and special tread designs supposed to ensure trouble-free operation in a wider range of weather conditions. We have fuel efficient tires whose low rolling resistance allows for decreased gas consumption and the ones designed to improve handling, cornering, and braking by reducing the risk of skidding and sliding.
There is a lot of information on the sidewall of a tire. Typically, you'll find UTQG ratings for treadwear, traction and temperature, the size of the tire, the load rating index number with a speed rating index, the construction type (bias or radial), the D.O.T. compliance code, and construction details. On some tires used as original equipment, you may also find a marking that indicates its OE status.
