The iconic grand tourer Jaguar XK-Type was unveiled in 2006, but the origins of the XK badge date back to the 1950s, when models such as the XK140 and XK150 spread the image of Jaguar as a top sports cars manufacturer. From 1961 to 1974, the legendary XK-E held the Jaguar sport flag, while with the XJS series the Jaguar sports car ideal slightly evolved to a more refined grand tourer concept. The XK8, introduced in 1996, completed this path, leading to the 2006 Jaguar XK series, a masterfully designed GT which set a new trend in car designing, projecting as well the Coventry automaker toward an even brighter future. Production ended in 2014.
