The purpose of an air filter is to prevent dirt from entering and ruining the engine. A performance air filter must do this and also allow increased airflow. Traditionally, if an aftermarket air filter improved airflow while maintaining OEM filtration levels, it would be considered an effective product. But now, with the Injen Universal EA Nanofiber Dry Air Filter, it's evident that what is considered effective must be redefined.

The EA Nanofiber air filter is the most efficient air filter available today. Its revolutionary synthetic nanofiber filtering media traps 5 times more dust than traditional cellulose filters and 50 times more dust than wet gauze filter media. And it does this while increasing airflow to the engine, when compared to cellulose media. Cellulose fibers are larger and have larger gaps between fibers, than nanofibers. This causes contaminants to load in the depths of the filter and clog the path of the airflow, resulting in restriction. The synthetic nanofibers in the EA air filter are smaller in diameter, with much smaller spaces between fibers, resulting in more contaminants being captured on the surface of the filter and less restriction.

EA Nanofiber air filters trap 2 ½ times more contaminants than comparable cellulose media filters. The smaller nanofibers in the media result in more pores per square inch, which creates more dirt holding capacity. The thinner fibers also produce more uniform pore size distribution, improving the filter's ability to capture and retain particles.
