Product Details

SP Series Polished Silver Short Ram Air Intake System (SP5010P) by Injen®. The Short Ram SP Series is a traditional, underhood air intake system that takes the place of your factory airbox and air filter, and the factory air intake tube. The EA Nanofiber air filter allows increased airflow and the aluminum alloy intake tube smoothes the airflow path into the engine. The increased airflow and velocity results in more power, increased acceleration and better fuel economy.

Just because the Injen SP Series Short Ram is a traditional "underhood" system, don't think it's any less of a performance air intake system. The SP Series Short Ram is a product of the same rigorous development and testing as Injen's other air intake systems. It's made of the same quality materials and features the same high flow EA Nanofiber dry air filter. The air intake tube is made of 6061, T-6 aluminum alloy, for strength, light weight and smooth airflow. All connections are made with quality silicone connectors that provide flexibility, while maintaining strength and thermal stability. The stainless steel hose clamps provide a solid seal that won’t loosen or deteriorate. The end result is a quality system that will improve performance and look great under the hood.

Where the SP Series Short Ram differs from conventional short ram systems is the inclusion of Injen's patented MR (Mega Ram) Technology. MR Technology allows this system to attain increased intake airflow and performance while maintaining a safe air/fuel ratio. Injen steps down the diameter of the intake tube where the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor mounts, enabling the sensor to detect airflow within established parameters. The engine control computer can then maintain the proper air/fuel ratio and optimize horsepower and torque. Simply put, MR Technology tunes the intake system to avoid the necessity of recalibrating the MAF sensor, and prevents your engine from running too lean or too rich. With MR Technology, Injen created "The World's First Tuned Intake System", delivering optimum performance with a factory safe air/fuel ratio.

The SP Short Ram system installs in place of your factory airbox and air intake tube. It's carefully engineered, with CNC machined brackets and adapters, to ensure an exact fit. Installation is fast and simple and can be completed under the hood. There's no need to get underneath the car or do any significant component relocating. Was worried about buying this thinking it wouldn't fit properly, but took a chance. Installed in thirty minutes and looked awesome on my 3.6 200! You honestly cannot beat the sound of this intake! As for CARiD I will buy from again. Pricing was fair and my intake shipped days before the estimated date! Thumbs up to CARiD!

Intake And CARiD Service Review
The intake by Injen technologies looks great and has a look of a quality intake and i love the sound that cold air intakes make when sucking in the air, the one thing i have to be concerned about is that in the product description it tells you that the intake will be down behind your bumper low where the cool air is flowing but this when installed is right up in the engine compartment above the transmission with a small piece of round sheet metal that covers half of the filter. This means that the air it is taking in is the hotter air off the motor rather than the outside air. One way to tell this is the case is when you lift the hood and touch the intake pipe it is warm to hot to the touch. If cold air was flowing through the intake it would stay cooler. It is my opinion that the positioning of the entrance of the original stock intake took in cooler air although not as much in volume as the Injen air intake. The filter of the intake is positioned behind the radiator and headlight and therefore could not possibly be taking in cold air, rather a larger volume of air as I said a minute ago just not cold. However i have noticed a increase in the pick up of the speed from take off and when you need to increase speed from an already moving position. Overall I am happy with the purchase and am happy with the service i have gotten from CARiD the two times I have made purchases from them and would recommend them to others seeking parts to enhance the appearance and experience of their vehicle. my first purchase was damaged and CARiD remedied the problem promptly sending out a new item to replace the damaged one and i look for customer oriented service in the companies i purchase from and so far I have gotten just that from CARiD very professional.

Know What You’re Buying
Like the title says, know what you’re buying. This means just because its a fancy tube does not means it’s a turbo and you will not notice any power gains from driving alone, on the dyno you might. Buy this if you are doing it for sound and engine dressing. It definitely makes your engine bay look better and it definitely makes the growl of the car more aggressive. It’s a great product for what it is, the bad reviews come from people that are expecting much more.

Extra Power
I just put on my 2018 Mazda 3 2.0 liter and I believe everything they say is true. More hp and and torque and better gas mileage. Really a quick installation and love the extra torque. The torque is what I missed the most especially at lower rpm. Great product.

Perfect
Let’s be real here, you wont notice any power gains from just an intake. You will however notice how much louder your car is afterwards. I’ve had people asking what kind of work is done to my car only to have them shocked that the intake is the one making the noise. This thing is super easy to install and will definitely make you smile every time you give your car some sauce. Perfect for a beginner if you’re looking to start making some changes.

Quality Intake
This is a good Air intake system. I am a Honda technician and love civics. For the people questioning their horsepower and torque gains I suggest looking into Hondata and the tuning options available. Without a proper tune just bolting this on will make zero performance differences, bolt on parts is not how performance works. This could cause your vehicle to run lean. If you’re going to build a race car do it right.
