Product Details
Scion tC 2011, SP Series Short Ram Air Intake System by Injen®. The Short Ram SP Series is a traditional, underhood air intake system that takes the place of your factory airbox and air filter, and the factory air intake tube. The EA Nanofiber air filter allows increased airflow and the aluminum alloy intake tube smoothes the airflow path into the engine. The increased airflow and velocity results in more power, increased acceleration and better fuel economy.
Installation
Just because the Injen SP Series Short Ram is a traditional "underhood" system, don't think it's any less of a performance air intake system. The SP Series Short Ram is a product of the same rigorous development and testing as Injen's other air intake systems. It's made of the same quality materials and features the same high flow EA Nanofiber dry air filter. The air intake tube is made of 6061, T-6 aluminum alloy, for strength, light weight and smooth airflow. All connections are made with quality silicone connectors that provide flexibility, while maintaining strength and thermal stability. The stainless steel hose clamps provide a solid seal that won’t loosen or deteriorate. The end result is a quality system that will improve performance and look great under the hood.
Where the SP Series Short Ram differs from conventional short ram systems is the inclusion of Injen's patented MR (Mega Ram) Technology. MR Technology allows this system to attain increased intake airflow and performance while maintaining a safe air/fuel ratio. Injen steps down the diameter of the intake tube where the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor mounts, enabling the sensor to detect airflow within established parameters. The engine control computer can then maintain the proper air/fuel ratio and optimize horsepower and torque. Simply put, MR Technology tunes the intake system to avoid the necessity of recalibrating the MAF sensor, and prevents your engine from running too lean or too rich. With MR Technology, Injen created "The World's First Tuned Intake System", delivering optimum performance with a factory safe air/fuel ratio.
The SP Short Ram system installs in place of your factory airbox and air intake tube. It's carefully engineered, with CNC machined brackets and adapters, to ensure an exact fit. Installation is fast and simple and can be completed under the hood. There's no need to get underneath the car or do any significant component relocating.
