The Infiniti QX56 is a full-size SUV that first made its way onto the road for the 2004 model year. Upon its debut it was constructed on the F-Alpha platform along with the Nissan Armada and Nissan Titan. Under the hood, the Infiniti QX56 boasted a 5.6L V8 engine capable of around 315 horsepower along with 390 pounds-per-foot of torque mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. One of the more underrated parts of the QX56 has been the vehicles towing capacity, which when it launched was rated at 9,000 pounds. As for the model's dimensions, the Infiniti QX56 measured in with a wheelbase of 123.2 inches, a width of 78.8 inches, a height of 78.7 inches, and an overall length of 206.9 inches.
For its second year on the road, the QX56 became available as both two and four-wheel drive. However, few other changes were made to the Infiniti QX56 parts for its sophomore version. 2006 is when Infiniti brought about a series of notable updates to the QX56 accessories, which included a 60/40 split-folding third-row seat, standard Bluetooth connectivity, and power-folding exterior mirrors. 2007 saw the 5.6L engine configuration receive a modest boost up to 320 horsepower and 393 pounds-per-foot of torque. Safety features for the model such as antilock disc brakes, stability control, a tire-pressure monitoring system, front-seat side-impact airbags, full-length side-curtain airbags, a reverse parking sensor, and a rearview monitor were all included into the list of standard Infiniti QX56 parts.
Most of the changes made to the Infiniti QX56 accessories in 2008 were cosmetic, as the front-end grille was revised and 20" chrome wheels were implemented as standard. Both the safety features and powertrain were left alone. Standard equipment across the board included xenon HID headlights, a rearview camera, front/rear parking sensors, a sunroof, and a power liftgate. Technologically-savvy features were the remote-keyless entry, navigation (with real-time traffic), and voice-command. Options such as adaptive cruise control and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system could also be had.
The Infiniti QX56 is a true noisemaker that shook up the world of luxury SUVs. The interior features enough room to chauffer the family around without compromising the overall texture of the ride while the performance is powerful and smooth enough to stand toe-to-toe with any other vehicle in its segment. For the drivers who enjoy a luxurious look but want a good amount of space and comfort, the QX56 delivers in a big, big way.
