The Infiniti FX35 is one of the primary models that helped launch the emerging luxury SUV segment off the ground and into the mainstream. A midsize crossover, the FX35 debuted for the 2003 model year. At its launch, the Infiniti FX35 was outfitted with a 3.5L V6 engine good for approximately 275 horsepower directed through a standard five-speed automatic transmission. The FX35 wasn't designed to be a hauler of extra personnel and cargo, although it could fit more than a compact SUV or full-size sedan. Instead, it was assembled to be a more spacious, luxurious answer to what was just starting to become a popular class of automobiles. As for the vehicle's dimensions, the Infiniti FX35 premiered with a wheelbase of 112.2 inches, a width of 75.8 inches, a height of 65 inches (in 2006 it was increased to 65.9 inches), and an overall length of 189.1 inches.
A substantial number of standard Infiniti accessories were included with the first generation of the Infiniti FX35, such as dual-zone climate control, cruise control, xenon HID headlights, power-adjustable seats, reclining rear seats, and a six-speaker CD stereo system. While the FX35 wasn't offered in an assortment of trims, drivers could choose either the Sport Package or the Technology Package, with both showcasing different sets of optional Infiniti FX35 parts. The Sport Package featured a sport-tuned suspension and 20" wheels. Cutting-edge safety features were the primary attractions in the Technology Package, as versions of that model were equipped with Intelligent Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert. All FX35 models were eligible for stand-along options like leather upholstery and navigation.
The second-generation of the Infiniti FX35 rolled off the line and into showrooms for 2009. The 3.5L V6 got a boost which equates to over 300 horsepower and is mated to a new seven-speed automatic transmission. It is also similarly equipped to the model's previous run. Xenon HID headlights, leather upholstery, satellite radio, Bluetooth capability, a premium Bose stereo system, and 18" alloy wheels are all included into the list of standard Infiniti FX35 parts. Once again, drivers could choose individual options or use the benefit of one of the model's distinctive packages. In lieu of the Sport Package, Infiniti presented the Premium Package, which shows off heated/ventilated front seats, driver-seat memory, and other luxurious amenities. A Navigation Package displays such Infiniti FX35 accessories as front/rear parking sensors, a hard-drive based navigation system, and a 360-degree parking camera. The Technology Package was carried over, offering rain-sensor windshield wipers, adaptive cruise control, Distance Control Assist, and the Lane Departure Warning system.
The Infiniti FX35 has become a leading luxury crossover SUV, because of its smooth, car-like driving quality and VIP-level comfort. Truly on its own playing field when it comes to sport-utility handling and performance, the FX35 edges out the competition when it comes to making up ground on the open road. Original, tasteful, and a true performer - drivers believe the hype when it comes to the Infiniti FX35.
