The Hyundai Palisade is the largest crossover SUV in the automaker's portfolio, set to contend against such greats as the Honda Pilot and Ford Explorer. The long-awaited 2020 Palisade essentially replaces the three-row Santa Fe XL, while taking a lot of cues from its predecessor. It is also bigger than its sibling, featuring a longer wheelbase and extra overall length to offer enough space for eight. For those who seek the comfort of passenger seating, a seven-seat version is available, with the 2nd-row bench replaced with captain's chairs. Hyundai's new flagship is primarily aimed at American buyers and is equipped respectively, packed with conveniences like multiple cupholders and USB ports and powered by a formidable engine.
Matching the Palisade's big size is a 3.8-liter V6 offered at launch. It puts out 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque while making the vehicle capable of towing 5,000 lb when properly equipped. This engine can also run on the Atkinson cycle to save fuel. In standard configuration, power is delivered to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic, while AWD is available for extra cost. The brand's HTRAC all-wheel drive is a major highlight thanks to its ability to distribute torque side to side and analyze traction to adjust shifting accordingly. The driver can select from four modes – a comfortable Normal, dynamic Sport, fuel-efficient Smart, and newly-available Snow.
The Palisade has a big and bold road presence, utilizing the Santa Fe's cascading grille and split headlights as part of its distinctive front end design. Out back, the SUV boasts vertical LED tail lights and a bold model name script stretching across the trunk. The profile has muscular detailing and somewhat resembles that of a Range Rover, while the optional 20-inch alloy wheels, together with other Hyundai Palisade parts of the exterior, complete the upscale look. The interior is available with Nappa leather seats, with the second-row ones moved with a one-touch system and the third-row seating offering power operation. Horizontal trim, an uncluttered dash with intuitive controls, and other Hyundai Palisade accessories and parts create a wraparound aesthetic in the cabin. The infotainment in the 2020 Palisade is operated via a 10.3'' touchscreen, while the climate control and audio are controlled by physical buttons. The optional head-up display projects the speed, navigation, warnings, and other helpful info on the windshield. If you want to make any upgrades to your SUV in order to personalize it, make it more comfortable, more capable, etc., you can always go aftermarket and choose the right Hyundai Palisade accessories and parts from our selection of products.
