Refurbished Unit Defective - Warranty Service Questionable
I received this refurbished unit and it appeared like new, aesthetically it was excellent. However, the unit was defective from the start. Several controls required they be pressed multiple times before the unit would respond to change the temperature, change airflow location, etc. After a trip to cooler weather the unit would not allow for me to turn it off even. I contacted warranty support for a replacement. I was asked to provide a video of the faulty unit, which I sent, showing the unit unresponsive to multiple presses of several different buttons. After multiple WEEKS I was instructed to wait for Carid to process warranty paperwork. After a couple more weeks I was emailed a return label and instructed to mail back the defective unit. Keep in mind, I have yet to receive a replacement unit. They expect me to remove the defective unit from a working car, mail it back to them and wait who knows how long for a warranty repair. That is unacceptable and terrible warranty service. I strongly suggest you be warned of this poor service if you are considering buying a refurbished unit from Carid.
