Product Details

Honeycomb™ Headache Rack by Highway Products®. Length: 77". Width: 9". Height: 31". Honeycomb™ headache racks are made from heavy gauge marine grade aluminum. The 1/8 inch cab guard insert is punched with a honeycomb tool and the side rails are tapered to match the contour of your pickup truck. The insert and side rails are fully adjustable so you can match the headache rack with the contour and height of your cab. Highway Products press machine forms waves in the headache rack insert that not only add strength but also gives it a sophisticated look. These back racks have a 750lbs load capacity and will protect the rear cab window. This Honeycomb™ design deflects light coming into your cab without obstructing the outside view.

Installation

1/10" 3003 & 5052 Aluminum
Aluminum's strength-to-weight ratio is far more superior than steel. Steel is twice the weight of aluminum, and no matter what you do, steel will rust. All Highway Products Inc. tool boxes are made from the same material used by the military. This thick, lightweight material is the perfect solution for reducing the weight of your work truck.

Stainless Steel T-Handle Lock
Highway Products ergonomically designed T-Handle locks are the most secure locking mechanism on the market. These locks are constructed from a stainless steel alloy that resists corrosion and rust. As you turn the T-Handle, a 3/4" stainless steel rod locking mechanism secures the lid to the box. Available only at Highway Products.

BOTTLE OPENER — Built in!
For those hard to open beverages at break-time or after work, we've included a convenient bottle opener built inconspicuously into the underside of the lid. Enjoy responsibly.

Gas Assisted Shocks - Keep your lid open
Nitrogen-driven gas shocks are used on all toolbox lids. This counterbalancing action raises the lid for you and keeps it open while you access your tools. The shocks are strategically placed so you can close the lid with one hand.

Fully Welded Hat Stiffeners
Every 6 inches is a fully welded hat stiffener that helps strengthen the cover, and guarantee a zero flex topper.

Full-Length Lid Design
The full-length lid design allows you to access all of Highway Products tools without obstruction. Highway Products add an overlapping lip to the front of the lid so it deflects water and rode grime. This over built lid is strong enough to stand on, making it the strongest 5th wheel box on the planet. Highway Products use 1/10" 3003 & 5052 aluminum, twice the thickness of Highway Products competitors, and weld a stiffener on the underside.

Removable Tool Tray
Tool trays made of plastic will crack, bend and break. These durable aluminum tool trays sit high on the toolbox for easy access. The easy-to-grip handle enables you to remove the tray or you can slide it to the side. This simple, yet functional design allows you to organize smaller items that would normally get lost on the bottom of your toolbox.

Watertight Seal - Keep your cargo dry
Nothing is more frustrating than opening your toolbox and seeing your tools in a puddle of water. Highway Products use Clean Seal™ automotive stripping around the edges of each toolbox to ensure a watertight seal. The stripping is made of closed-cell rubber with a hollow core. This allows the rubber to conform to curves, corners and varying cross sections without bridging or creasing.

Welded Rope Hooks
Adding rope hooks to your toolbox adds extra contact points when you are securing your load. These cast-aluminum rope hooks are welded from the inside of the box for a clean look. These hooks have a closed eye and an open eye for easy and convenient tie-downs.

Half the Weight of Steel
Aluminum is half the weight of steel; allowing a heavier load which gives better fuel economy while carrying additional cargo.

Alcoa Aluminum
Highway Products proudly uses premium Alcoa aluminum to build the highest-quality American-made metal products available.

Lifetime Warranty
All of Highway Products standard products come with a Lifetime Warranty against defects in workmanship. Your warranty includes locking mechanisms, hinges, gas props, weatherstripping, and any other materials Highway Products use.

Looks are half the battle
It definitely looks good once it's all said and done. But has a couple issues for me. -For the price I paid I wish the metal was thicker. Couldn't imagine leaning a ladder or sticks of conduit against it. Probably bend underweight. -Side post is way bigger than it looks so say goodbye to any over the rail's toolboxes. If you want to keep it, then you'll have a 6" gap from the back of box to bed. Now I got to buy another toolbox to fit in-between the post and rails inside the bed. All in all, it looks good but wish I got more for the price I paid, but hey everything nowadays is expensive.

Buyer
The product looks great. I am not completely satisfied with the rack because it is not taller than the roof of the truck so it doesn't serve the purpose in witch i ordered it for, which is a ladder rack. I am also not completely satisfied with how long it took to get the product. Originally ordered on Nov 2 2017, was told it was on back order and would ship in the 30th, after numerous emails it finally shipped on or around 12-14-2017.

No regrets, truck looks mean
Didn't NEED a headache rack but let's be real, we all want our trucks to look badass. This one does that while adding protection. The open mesh keeps airflow moving, important if you have a rear window that opens, and it's tough without weighing down your truck like steel racks. Looks great on the truck, works for me.

Strong But Lightweight
I run a construction business so my truck is loaded up all the time. This rack works great and is worth every penny. Fit was flawless, I bolted up in about 30 mins, very simple! It's aluminum so it doesn't add a ton of weight but it's still strong. Pricey but honestly worth it. would buy again for sure.

Perfect for work trucks
This is excellent qulity. Install is easy, you just need a drill. I use my Sierra 2500 for work and this rack keeps the back window protected and holds up to heavy use. The mesh design doesn't block my view.

Great Build Quality
I installed this on my F-250 and it's been awesome. The mesh design gives it a tough look. It's also great for work, I haul ladders and long gear and it holds up great.

Impressed With It So Far!
I bought this for when I'm getting wood, haven't beat it up yet but it feels very good quality. Had to drill a few holes here and there to mount on the bed but I highly recommend this product.
