Founded in the early 1950s and based in Ohio, Hercules Tires is a reputable brand in the North American tire market. The company carries a broad assortment of tires for passenger cars, SUVs, minivans, and light trucks, and most of them offer a winning combination of good performance, long lifespan, and affordable cost. There are several tire lineups designed for different goals such as improved off-road characteristics, versatility, or seasonal use. For instance, the Avalanche series was created for the finest performance on snow and slush thanks to the brand's Snow Grip technology and some other improvements.
The Terra Trac series was developed for off-road conditions and suits SUVs and light trucks. The lineup consists of all-season and all-terrain models that differ by tread patterns and compounds aimed at better stability, longer service life, or greater resistance to higher loads. All these parameters within the series are easy to compare, so choosing exactly what you need is quite simple. Besides, there are Hercules tires designed specifically for trailers and featuring commercial grade construction and outstanding durability. Whatever you choose, your new tires will provide decent performance and reliability at a reasonable price.
There is a lot of information on the sidewall of a tire. Typically, you'll find UTQG ratings for treadwear, traction and temperature, the size of the tire, the load rating index number with a speed rating index, the construction type (bias or radial), the D.O.T. compliance code, and construction details. On some tires used as original equipment, you may also find a marking that indicates its OE status.
