Hard Top Accessories

If you drive a convertible year round, unless you live in a warm, sunny clime where you can put the top down in every season, you should have a hard top. A hard top is better insulated, to keep your vehicle warmer during the winter, and more suited to handle heavy snow and ice, reducing the wear and tear on your soft top. But the response to a hard top recommendation is usually: how do I get it on and off, and where do I put it when I’m not using it.

Hard tops are large and typically weigh several hundred pounds, making them far too heavy and bulky for one person to handle. You may not be able to find a helper or two when you want to remove or install the top, and even then, if the top slips out of hand, it could result in damage to the vehicle or the top. And since storage space in many garages is at a premium, how do you safely store such a large component when it’s removed from the vehicle?

We have the solution to the hard top dilemma. Our hard top hoist runs on house current and its 1000 lb. capacity means it can easily handle even the heaviest hard top. It features a corded remote control so one person can easily guide the top into position. To ease storage headaches, just attach one of our handy storage carts to the back of the top before removal. This allows the top to store with the rear window toward the floor, so the top takes up the least amount of space. Our wheeled carts have protective padding to prevent damage and can store one-piece and multi-piece factory original and aftermarket hard tops.

While storage carts are available separately, if you opt for the complete system you also get a padded door cart on which you can store half and full steel doors, soft upper doors, and upper door sliders, a tool caddy with pouches for tools, loose parts and cleaning products, and a storage duffle for zip-out vinyl windows. The door cart fits inside the hard top cart, so it doesn’t take up additional floor space. The storage system comes with a cover to protect your top while in storage, but the cover and window storage duffle are also available separately.

But the hoist and storage system aren’t the only products we have to make hard top use easier. Our quick release kit replaces the Torx bolts that fasten the hard top to the vehicle. The fasteners in the kit have easy to manipulate knobs, so you won’t have to hunt for tools. With age the weatherstripping that seals the hard top to the vehicle can compress, harden and crack, and become torn or damaged during top removal and installation. You can eliminate wind noise, water leaks and rattling with one of our hard top seal kits. They’re application specific and come with everything needed to do the job right.

Poor Directions
It appears to be nice material, although I can't install it because it came with no instructions and around 45 pieces of adhesive tape. There is a video online and in the video it says refer to the adhesive location document, but apparently it doesn't exist. I contacted CARiD and they said they would email it, but haven't received it. Also, you need to remove the entire hard top which seems difficult, especially with all the random sized adhesive tape and no idea where they go. The freedom top panels seem the most difficult to decipher the locations of the adhesive. I gave it 2 stars based on it being the only liner that covers the entire interior of the top, but I can't install it because I don't know which adhesive strips go where. I suppose you could use a spray upholstery adhesive. Probably gonna send it back.
