Cab Curtains
A brief, bikini, or sun shade type top is one of the most popular alternatives to the factory soft top on Jeep CJs and Wranglers, allowing that open air feeling of freedom, but with a measure of protection from the sun and pop-up showers. But there may be times when you want a more enclosed cabin, like on chilly mornings, during highway travel, or when the weather turns. Installing the doors can help, but that still leaves the rear of the cabin open.
At such times, the rear of the cabin is still exposed to chilly backdrafts, noisy wind turbulence, or windblown rain, which can make driving unpleasant. The cold drafts may easily overcome the output of the heater, wind noise can make it difficult to carry on a conversation without shouting or listen to music at a reasonable volume, and getting soaked isn’t healthy for you or the interior of your Jeep. You need a quick way to close off the cabin.
One of our cab curtains, also known as wind breakers, will make your Jeep’s cabin fully enclosed. When the weather takes a turn for the worse or you want a quieter driving experience, just unroll the cab curtain and attach it to the roll bar with the attached nylon straps and buckles. Our cab curtains are constructed from fabric that is mildew and UV resistant, and have clear vinyl windows for unobstructed rearward vision. A cab curtain will keep wind, dust, and rain out of the cabin, and help retain the heat when it’s cold out and the cool air when the A/C is on.
But a cab curtain can be much more than just a temporary means of enclosure. If you combine the bikini top and cab curtain with a deck cover, you create a unique and complete passenger and cargo protection system, and give your Jeep a whole new look in the process. Most cab curtains are available in original factory colors, so you can match the shade and texture of each component for a factory installed appearance. Cab curtains usually attach to the deck cover with snaps or zippers, and an opening in the cab curtain is customarily provided for access to the rear of the vehicle.
Having a brief top, cab curtain, and deck cover is an inexpensive way to make your Jeep a more versatile vehicle. If you’re off-roading or cruising the top may be all the coverage you need, but if you encounter bad weather or want to conceal valuables, the cab curtain and deck cover can be quickly installed. Conversely, if you need room in your cargo area for oversize gear, the deck cover can be quickly removed, and if you want exposure to cool breezes, the cab curtain can be removed and stowed. These 3 handy accessories allow you to have as much or as little coverage as you want and the changeover takes only minutes.
