Vehicle & Parts Protection
A Hummer has long been seen as a status symbol. It is still a vehicle of choice for celebrities and all those who want to own and drive a big, masculine-looking SUV or truck. It was in 2010 that General motors wound down its military-derived Hummer brand. After a decade-long hiatus, the iconic nameplate is poised to make a big return. The revived Hummer isn’t a gas-guzzler it had been before. Although it is still a massive hauler with a macho persona, the upcoming vehicle is a zero-emission battery-powered SUV or pickup truck (SUT). It is big on power and makes a strong styling statement, but for those who want more, there’s a wide range of GMC Hummer EV accessories and parts available on the aftermarket for further personalization.
The new Hummer is based on the third generation of the GM’s EV platform. The pickup-based models are equipped with 800-volt battery packs and offer 350-kW DC fast-charging capability. The SUV-SUT pair has an estimated driving range of up to 400 miles and is powered by up to three electric motors. A single-motor configuration implies rear-wheel drive, while the availability of the second and third motor allows buyers to choose between two AWD setups. According to the manufacturer, the Hummer EV is capable of making 1,000 hp and 11,500 pound-feet of torque. However, the torque output doesn’t presumably relate to that produced directly by the motors but is rather measured at the wheels. One way or another, the all-electric Hummer is claimed to hit 60 mph in 3 seconds flat. The vehicle gets a fully independent suspension at all four corners with an option to upgrade to air springs.
The exterior styling of the GMC Hummer EV is in line with that of its non-electric predecessor. It retains the recognizable boxy look and short overhangs of the original model and adds some bold accessories and parts, such as an illuminated grille and the squared-off LED headlights. Both the SUV- and pickup-bodied Hummers feature removable targa tops like those of Jeeps and the latest Ford Bronco. The roof panels are stored up front, in the vehicle’s “frunk” (front trunk). Of course, a Hummer is a highly customizable vehicle, and if you’re looking to add some unique features to your SUV or truck, you’re sure to find all you need in our GMC Hummer EV parts and accessories selection.
