Most factory exhaust manifolds do little more than collect the exhaust gas and funnel it back to the exhaust pipes. They’re very restrictive because more than one cylinder dumps exhaust into the same small space. Now you can easily improve exhaust flow and release pent up horsepower with the Flowmaster Scavenger Series Elite Headers. They’re designed to directly replace your exhaust manifold.
These Headers feature large diameter individual exhaust tubes that allow unrestricted exhaust flow from the cylinder head exhaust ports. They’re so-named because Flowmaster found that for the best performance the 3 front and 3 rear tubes flow into 2 collectors, with the tubes from each collector combining in a single large collector. Every header design is dyno tuned for the application to ensure maximum gains in horsepower and torque, for improved performance you can feel. And while ordinary steel headers rust away from within and without, your Headers will last because they’re made from 409 stainless steel, a grade of stainless that’s particularly resistant to atmospheric and exhaust gas corrosion. While this would have been enough for most manufacturers, Flowmaster goes even further to ensure your headers will remain durable by giving them a coating of high temperature ceramic.
But the best thing about these headers may be that they’re so easy to install. They’re designed to directly replace your exhaust manifolds and utilize the factory exhaust system connections. The combination of laser cut 3/8” flanges and factory collector connections will ensure a secure, leak-free installation.
Your Headers are legal for installation in all 50 states and they come with gaskets, hardware and everything necessary for easy installation, including detailed instructions. They’re backed by a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and they’re proudly manufactured in the USA.
Flowmaster® has its roots in solving the engine noise problems encountered by California racers in the 1980s. In 1983 Flowmaster’s founder, Ray Flugger, created his first patented design of racing silencers, which dampened noise with minimal loss of power. Ray attached handles to ease carrying the square shaped race mufflers through the race pits, and the mufflers became known as the "suitcase mufflers." Today, the innovative Flowmaster mufflers are the result of years of development with top race engine builders, thousands of hours of dyno research and "real-world" on-track testing.
