In 2020, Ferrari hit the market with its most powerful sports car and it turned out to be the company's first ever plug-in hybrid electric offering. It is the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, a sports car that takes its name from the racing team Scuderia Ferrari. This road-going car brings a great number of the automaker's latest technologies, many new parts inside and out, and multiple distinguished Ferrari SF90 Stradale accessories that put it way ahead of other supercars. One of the most important things to know about the SF90 is that it’s the most powerful road-going model from the brand. Its powertrain puts out 986 HP. That is combined power output of four units: a heavily reworked version of the automaker’s twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors.
The V8 provides 769 HP and 590 lb. ft. of torque. One electric motor is located on the rear between the mill and the gearbox, while two others are installed on the front axle. That means the newcomer is all-wheel drive. All three units generate 217 HP. Those motors get power from a 7.9-kWh lithium-ion battery. The supercar also has an electric driving mode. It offers a range of about 16 miles and a top speed of 84 mph. The newbie features an eight-speed dual-clutch which is claimed to be lighter than the automaker's seven-speed dual-clutch and faster than that found in the 488 Pista. With all Ferrari SF90 Stradale parts of the powertrain precisely crafted for ultimate performance, the latest sports car sprints from zero to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaches 124 mph in 6.9 seconds. The speed is limited to 212 mph.
On the outside, Ferrari’s first ever plug-in hybrid model features an eye-catching exterior designed with aerodynamics in mind. Thus, the front section of the car’s chassis is 0.6 inches higher from the center which allows more air to pass through the vortex generators. Thanks to such a design, the new model can produce 860 pounds of downforce at 155 mph setting new standards for high-performance road cars. Inside, it introduces a 16-inch fully digital HD screen and a long list of high-tech driver assistance aids. The steering wheel now has touch pads that allow for controlling the instrument cluster. Besides, it also features paddles to shift driving modes. The car also got an advanced head-up display and a number of high-tech accessories for a rewarding driving experience.
