The Ferrari Portofino came to take the place of the automaker's entry-level California T model. Like its predecessor, the Portofino is a 2+2 convertible with a folding hard roof, powered by the same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8. But this all-new prancing horse takes sportiness, elegance, and performance to a whole new level, featuring a much more aggressive look and improved mechanicals that provide a 40 hp boost over the outgoing model. According to Ferrari, the chassis that the Portofino is built around is more rigid than the California T's and provides significant weight savings. With all improvements made inside and out, Ferrari’s new grand tourer promises to be a good replacement to the previous entry-level offering.
The latest Ferrari masterpiece pays tribute to some of the most beautiful Italian towns, Rosso Portofino. Style-wise, the Ferrari Portofino has handsome proportions, being lower, wider, and longer than its predecessor. It has a two-box fastback design that cannot be found in any other retractable hardtop coupe or convertible, which adds a sportier attitude without compromising on elegance. To enhance aerodynamics, there are small lips and intakes throughout the car's sculpted body, helping to better channel air. The interior is all new, replete with comfort and convenience features. Ferrari Portofino accessories and systems that improve on-board comfort include a user-friendly 10.2'' infotainment touchscreen, revamped air conditioning, and 18-way power seats. Passengers will also appreciate the upgraded wind deflector design that reduces air flow inside by 30% and cuts the noise level down.
The heart and soul of the Ferrari Portofino is indisputably its engine. The already familiar front-mounted V8 churns out 591 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque, featuring redesigned pistons, connecting rods, and upgraded engine management software for a power and torque gain over the California T. Other Ferrari Portofino parts and systems accounting for the boost and minimizing turbo lag are improved air intake and exhaust. The revamped engine mechanicals and electronics allow the new Ferrari car to sprint to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and attain a top speed of 199 mph. The Portofino received the latest 3rd-generation limited-slip rear differential (E-Diff3) that together with a F1-Trac electronic suspension improves grip and control over the car. It is also the first grand tourer by Ferrari to feature electric power steering for an increase in steering response without compromising on stability. An adaptive-damping SCM-E system enhanced with dual-coil tech minimizes roll and helps the car to better absorb road irregularities. All these upgrades in Ferrari Portofino accessories, parts, and systems allow for better vehicle dynamics and ride comfort.
