It’s supplied with all the hardware to completely replace all equivalent components of your vehicle’s stock braking system, giving a firmer and responsive brake pedal feel and allowing you to drive harder for longer without the onset of brake fade.
Installation
The Balanced Brake Kit has been designed from the ground up to perform right down to the very last bleed nipple. It is designed for a full vehicle upgrade and is supplied complete with matching EBC’s flagship fast street and track Yellowstuff™ front and rear brake pads to fit the original caliper and braided brake lines for the front and rear, ensuring a totally balanced brake upgrade that delivers maximum braking performance. Every single brake caliper metal fitting and brake disc is manufactured from stainless steel, and each brake disc bell and caliper brackets are machined from aerospace grade billet aluminum for high strength and durability.
Apollo series brake calipers reflect the EBC philosophy of providing top-quality products at affordable prices. They utilize a 2-piece bolted design, incorporating high tensile 12.9 grade steel bolts for reinforcement of the caliper bridge section. This significant improves caliper stiffness compared to a mono-block design. A stiffer bridge section means less elongation during brake apply, giving a firmer and more responsive pedal feel, especially after a period of harder braking where the aluminum bridge of a mono-block design caliper softens appreciably with increasing temperature.
Unlike the vast majority of cast calipers, which are typically gravity cast, Apollo Series caliper bodies are machined from heat treated low pressure castings, which gives EBC’s Apollo series brake calipers a noticeable performance advantage over conventional gravity cast calipers, exhibiting higher overall strength and a comparable caliper body stiffness to forging. Besides, every caliper is finished using the patented advanced high-temperature Teflon polyester coating process that gives a durable, fade resistant coating that’s easy to wipe clean and ensures that Apollo calipers will look great for years to come.
The organic aramid fiber construction of Bluestuff™ pads resists heat buildup that plagues inferior pads, so you won't have to compensate for reduced effectiveness after brake fluid gets hot enough to boil in the lines. And Bluestuff™ pads are designed to hold together under extreme, heavy use. Instead of using rivets to secure pad material and backing plate together, Bluestuff™ pads use an additional layer between the two in order to form a strong chemical bond that provides three times the resistance of pad separation or shear. Four balancing weights built in to the backing plates of Bluestuff™ pads ensure high-frequency vibration is cancelled out to eliminate squealing noise.
