The Dodge Hornet marks the automaker’s return to the small crossover segment. After many months of rumors and dozens of spy photos, the wraps have been finally pulled off the new entry-level model in the brand’s lineup. The latest offering from Dodge shares the platform and lots of exterior and interior parts and accessories with the Alfa Romeo Tonale. But that’s not to say that these two compact crossover SUVs look absolutely identical. The first difference that you’ll most likely notice are reshaped headlights. Those owners who want to give their car a personal touch of style can go the aftermarket route. From custom rims and tires to unique license plates and logos, there is a great variety of Dodge Hornet accessories and parts available to choose from.
The newcomer is available in GT and R/T models. The former are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine force-fed by a turbocharger to make 265 horsepower. This mill is teamed with a nine-speed automatic and motivates this crossover SUV from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, a good number for the class. R/T models have a plug-in-hybrid powertrain that consists of a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder mill and a 121-hp electric motor. The total power output is rated at 285 horsepower. These versions also come with an automatic transmission but it has six speeds. A torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive setup is also standard equipment. The driver can use a PowerStop function to get an extra 25 horsepower for 15-second bursts. The Hornet R/T is said to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 6.1 ticks. Finally, it offers about 30 miles of electric driving thanks to a 12.0-kWh battery pack.
As for the interior, it is well-built from premium quality materials and chock-full of up-to-the-date technologies to make any trip safe and enjoyable. If you want to give your interior a custom touch while at the same time protecting your factory upholstery and floor carpet from premature wear and tear, you can reach the goal by installing specially designed seat covers and floor mats. These and many other Dodge Hornet parts and accessories are readily available in our store. On the technology side of things, the crossover comes with an infotainment system that uses a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and the Uconnect system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Amazon Alexa are standard. Whatever Hornet model you go with, it has a bunch of driver aids and safety features.
