The Dodge Durango made its way onto the road in 1997 and is still produced and retailed by the Dodge division of Chrysler. At its debut, the Durango was classified as a mid-size SUV, though starting from 2004, the vehicle falls in the class of full-size SUVs. The Durango comes in 2WD and AWD configurations. Originally, this full-size sport utility vehicle was offered to buyers with a choice of V6 and V8 engines that ranged from 3.9L to 5.9L. The latest models of the Durango are powered by either a 3.6L V6 or a 5.7L V8. In 2008, the automaker launched a Hybrid version of the Durango that takes its power from a 5.7L V8 coupled with an electric motor. The total system output is thus rated at impressive 385 hp. A remarkable vehicle inside and out, the Dodge Durango shows off a perfect blend of tough sport utility vehicle design and cutting-edge performance.
