Years ago, with Chevy's and other cars, I installed remanufactured starters and alternators and always felt like I was heading down a dark road with no headlights. And more often than not, I ran into problems with poor performance and even outright premature failure. One time I had to replace a starter that I just purchased from an auto store the very same day because it failed. So it's been a few years since I installed a remanufactured part. With this Denso from CARiD, I felt confident from the moment I took it from the box. It was an exact match for the original Fuji Heavy Industries starter that was in my 05 Outback. Looked and felt well restored to original condition. And, best of all, it went in like it belonged there from day one. It sounds like quality workmanship when I turn the car on. So far, I feel like I saved the installation costs of an auto shop, but did not sacrifice any reliability with the part I used. As a footnote, returning the core at no cost to me, was a big factor for my choosing CARiD and it was easy with the clear return instructions.
