Carbon Creations® 108683 - M-Speed Style Carbon Fiber Hood

This hood looks fantastic but be prepared to do extensive modifications to get this installed. We had to fabricate the hood latch as this hood has about 1/2 in shorter u bolt on the latch. Additionally the air scoop is not installed and figuring out where the holes need to be drilled was next to impossible. We finally used an angle grinder to cut slots in the hood where the bolts needed to go and got things lined up. Took two guys working about 8 to 9 hours to get it installed.

I ordered this hood for my Mazda 3 2010 Sedan and the part fit perfectly with minimal adjustments needed. This hood looks awesome! The weight this hood takes off your car & the air flow it allows made for huge gains in performance! [+] The hood scoop came installed! (Not separately as shown in advertised photos.) After unscrewing the bolts that kept the factory hood on, the carbon fiber hood slid into place. With minimal adjustments for the centering of the part. [-] Holes for the screws do not come drilled, so some prepping is required to actually install the part, and fasten it safely. I would highly recommend ripping the rubber protectors off of your old factory issued hood & drilling out the holes for them to be reattached onto your new carbon fiber hood. Helps balance the hood evenly for flush look, and keeps the hood from clapping against your engine bay.

We are an automotive collision center who ordered this hood at the request of our customer. It's horrible. The striker is at least 1/2 too short and mounted about an inch off center from the latch. No way to close the hood. Hinges off center as well. Original hood fits car perfectly. This one nearly touches one fender and a 1/2 gap at the other. Lots of waves as well. Though the scoop is included with hardware, there are no holes drilled for installation. I actually called the manufacture before ordering and was told a completely different story. Took two weeks to get.

I bought mine about a month ago and not only is it much lighter,it looks absolutely killer even from a far away glance. Also keeps my ait down, helped it get down about 70 degrees at first,used to run around 154 then after this was installed they became around 80s. The highest temp ive ever seen it get up to is 120 and that was on a really hot day so still dropped the temperature down 30 which is great.

High quality hood, however like any install this is not plug and go. You will have to drill several holes in the bottom side to make OEM latches and clamps fit. Holes on the front where the latch and pin go are not in the right spot what so ever. With the hood pins that they do tell you are a requirement, the hood will not wobble or budge even without the OEM clamp. Solid but would be nice if holes came in the right spots.

I ABSOLUTELY love how this hood looks on my car. People stop me to ask where I got it all the time. The weave isn't 100% perfect if you're really picky, but it's good enough for me. No regrets.

Installation required some professional help but the end result is worth it. I added hood pins and they look cool too.

Hood looks awesome. The weight savings are no joke. Lifting the old hood was a workout, this one barely weighs anything

Great addition to my 2016 Corolla s Plus. The under side of the hood looks just like the OEM hood but made of fiberglass. Easy to install just 4 bolts, the hood has a hook just like the OEM so it closes and works with your Corollas hood release. No hood pins or additional installation work required. The ugly side is.. The hood doesn't have holes for rubber bumpers and has a little bit of up down play where the bumpers would hold it, and because of that it's not flush on front edge, the hood is almost 1/8" lower and inside of fenders shows. On the back of the hood near the rear corners the hood curves about 1/8" above the fender and comes back down at the rear corners. The hood doesn't have holes on the underside for the OEM window washers. The whole thing is slightly smaller in width than OEM so there is a larger gap between the hood and the fenders. Still looks great, worth it!
