In the last few years, automotive sales shifted heavily towards family-friendly SUVs. There is no denying that sedan sales are on the wane, but there is still a solid core of buyers who are interested in those cars, and especially in their high-end versions. Cadillac, the primary name in luxury sedans, believes that this class of vehicles is not dead. And although they have lately revised their sedan portfolio having ditched the ATS and CTS, there may be a place of the market for the car with a new look. The Cadillac CT5 is set to occupy it as a sleeker-looking, more refined replacement to the CTS. And with a variety of Cadillac CT5 accessories and parts on the market, there are many options for personalization.
The newcomer is based on the latest version of the Alpha platform shared with its predecessor and has many things in common with the Chevy Camaro under its skin, which means Cadillac keeps offering cars with sharp driving dynamics. There are two familiar engine options available at launch, namely a 2.0-liter 275-hp I4 and a 3.0-liter 404-hp V6, already installed in the XT4 and CT6, respectively. Both are teamed with a 10-speed automatic which replaces the outgoing model's eight-speeder and sends power to the rear or all wheels. The automaker promises an agreeable exhaust tone thanks to unique calibrations.
Buyers can initially choose between two trim levels, the aggressively-styled Sport and the reserved Luxury, which feature a plethora of unique Cadillac CT5 accessories and are designed to drive differently. The models represent a new direction in Cadillac's design language, with their wide stance, low beltline, and chiseled lines. The front fascia is dominated by a black mesh grille and vertical headlights, while the rear has been redesigned and looks unique in each trim. Typically for a Cadillac, the interior of the CT5 abounds in luxury touches. There is a finer grain of wood decorating the center console and door panels which complements the look of light camel leather. The infotainment is operated via a large dash-mounted touchscreen and a rotary controller. Like other recent vehicles by Cadillac, the CT5 offers the Super Cruise technology with self-steering capability, which reduces fatigue during long-distance on-highway driving. Discover a wide range of Cadillac CT5 parts and accessories available in the aftermarket to make your driving experience even more comfortable.
