The Cadillac Allanté is a two-seat luxury roadster manufactured by General Motors and sold from 1987 to 1993. It was offered as a two-door convertible. Originally created as a rival to the SL from Mercedes and the XJS from Jaguar, this model was powered with a new variant of the 4.1 L V8 engine. The 1987-1988 Cadillac used a 4.1 L HT-4100 V8 engine. In 1989, a more powerful 4.5 L HT-4500 V8 engine was introduced. The final generation of the Allanté featured a more powerful 4.6 L engine. Also, in 1989, the Cadillac Allanté boasted a new road sensing suspension to make driving at lower speeds more comfortable.
