Bumper Seals + Gaskets

New bumper seals, gaskets, impact strips, and fillers are the finishing touches that complete a bumper installation. These parts are most often made of rubber, plastic, and foam rubber, which commonly degrade from impact and many years of exposure to the elements. Whether you’re mounting a new bumper after a collision, making sure everything looks perfect on a restoration project, or just want to upgrade the general appearance of your car or truck, these parts are the details that complete the job and you’ll find them all right here on our digital shelves.

A typical front bumper will incorporate mounting spots for parking lights and possibly fog lights, while back up lights are commonly found on rear bumpers. On newer vehicles the lamp lens is often part of the housing and the bulb is accessed from the rear, but on older vehicles it was customary to mount the lens to the lamp with a gasket in between. Whether you’re replacing a bulb, the lens, the lamp assembly or the entire bumper, it is good practice to always use a new gasket to prevent the entry of moisture that could cause condensation buildup, corrosion and lamp failure.

Today the average car bumper consists of a plastic fascia integrated into the body of the vehicle, concealing an energy absorbing mechanism within. But in the era of traditional chrome bumpers the demarcation between a car’s bumper and body was well defined, and the gap between the two was taken up by bumper-to-body seals and filler panels. These components have an aesthetic purpose, filling unsightly gaps and spaces that would otherwise leave an unfinished appearance, but they’re also functional. Without them moisture, dirt, debris, and in winter road salt, would be able to collect in crevices and cavities between the bumper and body, promoting corrosion and deteriorating the finish, and on some vehicles their absence can allow road drafts to deposit dirt on the trunk and rear window.

Impact strips, sometimes called bumper moldings or cushions, are the bumper’s first line of defense against minor impacts. However, like bumper seals and fillers, impact strips are also used for styling purposes. Predominantly black, these moldings are often used to accentuate a curve or crease, or create a dividing line. They can also have a chrome facing or may include black and chrome elements within the same strip. Impact strips vary from simple lengths of flexible strips that are attached with adhesive to molded pieces incorporating fasteners that are inserted into holes in the bumper. In instances of minor contact, impact strips can bear the brunt of the applied force and cushion the blow, protecting the bumper behind, and their replacement cost is much less than a new bumper.

Bumper seals and gaskets harden, crack and deteriorate with age and exposure. Impact strips are sacrificial parts designed to protect more valuable components. Whether you want individual parts for a repair or everything to install a new bumper, we have all your bumper seal, gasket, filler panel, and impact strip needs. Our parts for late model vehicles are made to OE specifications, so you can count on easy fitment and flawless looks. Easier Than Expected Install
Wasn't sure I could handle the installation myself, but the seal fit perfectly on my Matrix, no issues. It's exactly what I needed after that minor fender bender. Quality seems good, and it's holding up well. Plus, it saved me a trip to the body shop. Definitely a win in my book.
