The BMW iX3 is an all-electric version of the German automaker's well-rounded compact luxury SUV, the X3. It is also BMW's first attempt at building a purely battery-powered SUV. The iX3 is reserved for the European and Chinese markets and is not available in the U.S.; here, the carmaker's EV lineup starts with a bigger iX crossover and the i4 hatchback. Built on the X3 platform with minor modifications, the small electric SUV has the same strengths that its gas-powered brother is known for, offering a combination of comfort, performance, practicality, and modern tech features. The aftermarket provides a plethora of options for further customization, with some of the latest and greatest BMW iX3 accessories and parts being gathered on our digital shelves.
The iX3 is powered by a single motor that drives the rear axle. Contrary to what the X series name would suggest, which is associated with standard xDrive, AWD is not available for the electric version of the vehicle. The motor is capable of producing 281 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which is adequate for just about any driving situation and enough to send the crossover to 62 mph from a standstill in 6.8 seconds. The iX3's 80-kWh battery can be replenished to 80 percent in about half an hour at a 150-kW DC fast charging station. The WLTP- rated driving range is 286 miles, which equates to nearly 200 miles on the EPA rating system.
The X3's demure exterior style continues on the iX3, accentuated by a series of unique styling cues and accessories. The kidney grille is present but closed off for lower air resistance, and 19-inch wheels are redesigned for aerodynamic reasons as well. An optional set of blue exterior and interior accents differentiates the battery-powered SUV from its ICE-motivated sibling. Inside, the iX3 is well-appointed and nicely equipped. As expected of BMW, it is fitted with high-quality materials and modern tech. The crossover comes standard with a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital gauge panel, and an infotainment touchscreen that is just as large. The touchscreen isn't responsible for all the functions; audio and climate control settings can be changed via logically-arranged buttons. Minimalist aesthetics highlight the interior design; should you want to dress it up a bit and add some individual touches, we're always at your service with our BMW iX3 parts and accessories catalog.
