The Aston Martin DB9 is a GT level sports coupe unveiled in 2004 by Aston Martin, a company with a more than 90-year history. The DB model name springs from the initials of the Aston Martin owner, David Brown, and it is the first model to be hand-made at the Gaydon facility (Warwickshire, England). The Aston Martin DB9 was created on the Ford's aluminum VH flexible platform, which was upgraded in 2008 with a unique 5.9L V12 48-valve engine producing 490 horsepower. The same 2008, the innovative all-round independent suspension and brakes were improved by Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Dynamic Stability Control systems, which deliver superior braking performance at high speeds.

There are a few modified versions of the Aston Martin DB9, the regular sports coupe and the DB9 Volante. The Volante is the convertible version built by hand in limited numbers. It has been clocked to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles in 4.9 seconds. The special DB9 LM edition, limited to 124 units, was designed to honor the Aston Martin's victory in the “24 Hours of Le Mans” race in 2007. All of the LM cars are painted with a unique color known as Sarthe Silver and are available with a Sports Pack. All DB9 models are powered by the same engine and share a lot of parts and components.

In 2008 there was a facelift that led to some light modifications in both interior and exterior parts, including a new front grille, redesigned mirrors, a wider range of brand new rims available, and DBS-style tail lights. Also, the new engine featured remodeled cylinder heads resulting in additional 20PS. After the modification of the Touchtronic transmission, it delivered faster and smoother shifting and made the parking process much easier. The driving quality and better handling performance came with a new Bilstein suspension. It is not out of place to mention the Aston Martin DB9’s safety, as it was crash tested by Volvo engineers in a high-end safety center in Sweden. The VH platform completely justified itself providing ultra strong passenger protection that received some of the highest ratings in its class.
