Aries® 3025171 - Black Mounting Brackets for ActionTrac™ Retractable Running Boards

These are really neat boards and work well, when working. The door triggers (magnet sensors) work somewhat sporadically. About 25% of the time, one can get stuck in the open or down position. When this happens, you have to reset the brain module by flipping a switch you install in the dash, however, not all the time does that reset it. Sometimes you will stand there outside of your car flipping that switch a few times until is resets and pulls back up. I've talked to the manufacturer a few times now, and I've replaced the sensors a few times, but really what it comes down to is the sensors are not the most optimal. They need a redesigned trigger or something that isn't so flakey. I'm getting a new set of triggers and will try one more time, but for the money paid, you should not be having this issue as often as I do, if not at all. I'm a little bummed, as I really like them, but we shall see. Others purchasing this product need to be aware of this issue, and the more that Aries is aware, maybe they will implement a better solution.

After watching your instal video, I felt confident about installing myself.. it took me a few hours but I got it installed!! Looks great!! My mom was excited and pleased on how much easier it was to get in her vehicle.. thank you for a product that is practical and DIY install friendly.

Overall this is a decent set of steps and I would buy again. Install was a breeze. The only reason I did not give a five-star was that some of the hardware bolts provided did not fit the factory holes. Some minor drilling needed or do what I did and just reuse a factory bolt if you have it. The other thing that confused me that led to a three-star versus a five-star was that the steps each came with three mounting adjustable brackets. However the hardware kit that attaches the step to the truck only came with two. So there's a leftover set of bracket slides for the steps. My particular truck (single cab long bed) didn't need the third bracket however would have been nice since the steps included it and the truck had a mounting point for it. I am sure that particular mounting point on my truck is for Crew cabs or extended cabs these steps did not require three mounting points just would have been nice.

Really happy with these boards now that they're on. They look great and retract smoothly. My wife and kids can get into the truck so much easier now.

These steps are a great upgrade, they look great and make it so much easier to get in, especially for my wife and kids. Perfect for my lifted 16 Silverado 1500. The sensors work flawlessly.

Nice addition for lifted trucks like mine! I really like the step-within-a-step design, makes getting in and out so much easier. The lights come on when you open the door, nice for night time. Overall, really happy with this upgrade!

Great product

Easy to install, took less than a hour to do by myself

First of all they came very quickly. Very high quality. Bought these because climbing into our 2500 Silverado was a chore for my wife. Now she has no problems. Installation is a little challenging. If your not mechanical you may want to have them installed. Overall though they are great and I definitely recommend them.

These worked well with the trim on our 2017 Ford Explorer. Mounted professionally and appear solid as a rock, no issues currently. My only complaint would be with the stepping area of the running boards themselves are plastic and not very grippy. However, this hasn't caused an issue so far.
