The current version of the legendary Lincoln Continental entered the market as a 2017 model after 15 years of hiatus. Just like previous versions, Lincoln's full-size car offers generous interior room, numerous amenities, and excellent performance. For the third year of the production run, the Continental remained almost unaltered except for some changes in feature availability. For 2019, the model also comes with only minor updates concerning the equipment – the base version received adaptive cruise control along with the corporate suite of safety features including a rear-view camera, emergency braking, and blind-spot info system. The Reserve trim adds park assist, head-up display, 360-degree camera, windshield wiper de-icer, heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats. The range-topping Black Label grade received 30-way adjustable seats for 2019.

The 2019 Lincoln Continental offers three potent engines. In the base configuration, the vehicle is propelled by a 3.7 L V6 that generates 305 hp. A 2.7 L twin-turbo V6 good for 335 hp is offered as an option, while a 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 capable of producing 400 hp is a range-topping unit. The last engine works together with the corporate torque-vectoring AWD system based on the one used by Ford’s high-performance Focus RS model, while others are teamed with regular FWD or AWD (optional) systems. A 6-speed shiftable automatic gearbox is standard across the model range.

The 2019 Lincoln Continental offers generous standard equipment. Parking sensors, automatic headlights, power-folding side mirrors incorporating puddle lamps, proximity entry, rear-view camera, adaptive steering and suspension, and 18” alloy wheels are standard for the model. The interior offers leatherette upholstery, power-adjustable seats in front with a heating function, dual-zone climate control, and push-button start. As for tech features, the new Continental comes with a 10-speaker stereo system, 8” touchscreen for Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system, smartphone integration, and satellite radio. The cabin of the vehicle is comfortable and very quiet, making both short and long trips pleasant. The trunk provides ample space – it is capable of carrying 16.7 cu. ft. of cargo and offers low liftover height.

The Coach Door Edition is planned to be offered for the Continental, equipped with what Lincoln fans have long been requested – suicide doors. The doors are electronically operated, which ensures their smooth opening and closing. The interior will feature the Black Label theme, while also being more spacious thanks to a longer wheelbase. Motivation comes from the most powerful engine in the lineup – the 400-hp V6. The limited edition model will be part of the nameplate’s 80-year celebration and will be available in just 80 units.
